Hot water is really bad for hair. Use warm water to shampoo your hair, as it helps loosen up the dirt. But cold water is better to wash off conditioner. It kind of shocks the hair causing the cuticle to close, and hair appears smoother, shinier.

Supposedly cold-ish water makes it shine more and hot water makes it drier. But I don't really know. I suppose it's what works best for you. I use warm water. =)

You need hot to loosen the old oils and dirt, cold would just make it gel and you'd be left with nasty old stuff after shampooing . . . but you can rinse in cool to close up the hair shafts once it is clean.

Warm water. I heard it's good to rinse conditioner out hair with cool water though.

cold water makes your hair more silky, shiny, and soft. Warm water supposedly "damages" it but i can't really tell the difference

what i do is wash it with warm water because it gets out all the shampoo better then cold , then i rinse it with cold because it makes it really shiny.

you need warmer water to thoroughly clean your hair but when your done you can rinse it will real cool water-it closes down the cuticle layer of the hair and makes it look shinier

If your hair is colored always wash with cool water. It saves the color from fading. Especially if you have highlights (or use bleach) because it seals the cuticle on you hair.
