Suck on a peppermint candy or chew a piece of minty gum.......the scent helps make your brain more alert.
Or you can exercise for about 30 minutes right before you sit down to study.
I have the same problem in nursing school, and these things are usually the best at helping me. Good luck.

Sounds like what you're studying is boring. Turn what you're studying into lyrics to some catchy tune. Walk around while you study. Do some kick exercises at the same time. It'll give you energy and will actually clear your mind so you can "learn" more!

Chew some Big Red Gum.
Studies have been done and it has been proven that it enhances your ability to absorb what you are studying and the taste will keep you alert.
No joke.
If you read this far down.

This happened to me in graduate school. My solution was to go to the library, rather than studying at home. It worked.

Drink coffee with caffeine.
Take NoDoze.
Study at a time of day when you are least tired. Like in the morning after you get up and you are more alert.
Hope this helps.
