There may be more than one answer to this question. One reaon may be that the person is insecure and requires validation from other people to feel secure. The person has the perception that if they show off more, they will get more attention, and therefore the admiration or desired comment or compliment.
One other reason may be that the person is super confident and could care less what others have to say. What they wear may be what they feel comfortable in. However, the question remains, why are they comfortable showing it all off? The answer to that circles back to my first reason -- they are insecure.

Insecurities. Some people work for their bodies so hard that they feel its only right they show it off. Others do it for attention and try to get some looks or compliments. Some do it for the wrong reason trying to make an ex jealous. Each has there own reason. Why do fat people wear spandex. Its just those questions we ask. Some people are proud and confident and have very nice bodies that they want to share. Others seem to think that if they show enough skin, they may attract someone. I personally like when girls hide more and leave you wondering.

I wear clothing that shows off my figure because I love my body and I am very confident. I don't need attention, but everyone likes it from time to time. I wear what I comfortable wearing and the opinions of others don't phase me at all. I like who I am, plain and simple
Other people might do it in order to feel confident. Sometimes, getting even the slightest compliment is enough to make a woman or man feel good. So they wear a tight shirt or low rise pants they feel like they are comparable to the models or they feel comparable to the body type they wish they could be.
I'm sure everyone has their reasons. Why do you do it? Or better yet, why not do it?

Well 1st of all maybe just because they can and their proud of their body. Some people have bodies that are worth showing off. Could also be an insecurity thing. Maybe they aren't happy inside, so they dress in a way that make's them feel noticed.

Most people show off their body because they have extremely low self of estem and self worth. They feel that they only way that people will notice them is if they show off every good (and sometimes bad) thing about them. They also do it because they think that one cares about them and by showing everything off they get the attention that they were looking for. Even when you are calling the said person names and spreading rumors about them, you are feeding their want of attention. However it can be a form of rebellion, against parents, siblings, or just people in general.

That's true because the majority of "those people" have been raped or sexually abused, and it makes them think that this is the only thing that they're good for. They do this to feel like they are worth at least something.

Why not? Nothing more beautiful than a human body. The key is in the fact that they are wearing clothing and that does much to enhance a beautiful body as it hides the blemishes and enhances the more desirable features.

Well, I think that is b/c they value their selves on how much someone wants them sexually and how sexy they can look. To show off a little is ok little chest a shoulder maybe, but, to so wear shorts were you can see the whole *** that is to much and they want th opposite sex to see that and when they do they only think of one thing sex. Nah, I rather have a man want me and is going to love me not want me for sex.

At least that was the slogan back in the early 1970's.
Problem is, too many people are a bit pudgy...and all that fat kinda rolls over the hip-huger jeans or pops out under that crop-top shirt.
