i's 50 degrees in texas where i live---and i'm freezing! how do you dress up north with out freezing your hand and toes off? yes, i'm bringing a big coat, but what else?

If it works with your dress - definitely wear close-toed shoes!
Also, a pashmina wrap/scarf looks great and keeps you very warm!
I also try and wear tights instead of very sheer stockings, but I guess that depends on your outfit. Find out if there is a coat check where you are going - then you can wear a heavier hat/scarf/gloves combination and check them when you get there and nobody will know!

Be sure to have a scarf, a hat and gloves. Also, definitely have tights or stockings. And if at all possible, try to fit some nice fancy boots with your outfit.
Other than that, I highly recommend investing in a cab ride!

wear 2 pairs of socks 2pairs of gloves 2sweat shirts 1 big warm coat 2hats 1scarf in your mouth and one around your neck !!! try dat|!!!!!!!!!!!
