96 Volvo 850 GLT would not start only heard electrical noise, radio and lights went on.?

I kept trying, I took out the key, pressed the lock/unlock on the remote entry, turned off radio. Now the car starts no problem. It is not cold out and the battery is clean. Any ideas?

Sounds like the burglar alarm system is working overtime

The battery may be clean but check the terminals for corrosion.
