I have eczema and I'm 20 so I've pretty much tried everything. DO NOT use too much cortizone. Only use it when the skin is the worst. I used to cover my feet in it and now the pigment is distorted. Cortizone can also distort the elasticity in your skin. Ellidel is the only non-steriod cream I've heard of. I know it sounds strange but I use diaper rash cream sometimes because the zinc helps skin to heal faster. Some people change their diet. I did this when I was four and it does clear it up a lot however it's kinda stressful (no white flour, potatoes, sugar, red meat, milk, eggs). Oatmeal baths help. Rinsing with really warm and cold water after kills bacteria on the skin that makes it itchy.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

I certainly am not a physician, but I've heard that psoriasis is helped with a zinc spray. Perhaps eczema, rashes, etc. I found on internet: "Skin cap with zinc Pyrithione cream and spray.
Nutritional Healing says that allergies and even drinking hard water can upset zinc levels. Of course a doctor should double check this!

Try googling this for online support groups. Many people will find support out there for this and help offer suggestions. I can't imagine having a child suffering as baby. I know Right Start has wonderful soothing products and many people suggest the baby line from Arbonne especially people who suffer exzema (adults use it) you have to find a rep locally or go online. Also find an allergist. Go to your local children's hospital if you can and since your wife is a nurse you're in the best hands. I think it's an allergin in her milk/diet or envrionment that triggers her. Also try some Benadryl, a lot of water, and look in to the children's hospital.

My daughter has the same condition and that aveno did nothing but make it worse. The only thing that clears it up is Elidel. She lived with itchy rashy skin for 3 years. I used this cream on her for 1 week and she was clear. I've only had to use it once a year. Mostly in the cold season. It is very expensive though but if you want your son to stop being itchy it works.

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/H2pK8

I read that Noxzema was named that because it was made to "knock exzema" you could try a little on a small patch and see if it helps. Sometimes simple old fashioned things work better than anything.
