I never seem to maintain my interest in a guy very much past the first date. Why is that? are my standards too high? have I lost sight of what is important? I am interested until I get to know them bettter, and then "poof!!" its all gone!!!! any suggestions would be great!

There two possiblities. Number one, perhaps you have not found the "right" one yet. Maybe you don't feel the chemistry, attraction, or connection (nothing to feel guilty about, it is perfectly normal). In this case, you may want to date around a little more. The second possiblity is that you aren't sure what you want in a partner. Not knowing exactly what you want in partner (whether its physical appearance, interests, or values) is going to keep you running in endless circles. If possiblity #2 sounds like you you might want to gather up your thoughts and dream up Mr. Right. You may not find someone who matches your ideal to a T but it will definitely help you get close.

You apparently have not found one that u would want to be tied down with. Seems to me u have wandering eyes which is not a bad thing. And not dating helps u keep out of trouble. Apparently u are just waiting for the best u can get.

Apparently your not dating the right guys. Maybe you should set your standards higher and only go out with the most interesting guys.

Maybe you just want something which most guys can't offer. Possibly experience has lead you to filter out a lot of guys more or less immediately - there is nothing wrong with that - there is a saying that you kiss a lot of frogs before you kiss a prince. There is nothing wrong with having standards!

Your standards are very high and the majority of guys are superficial. Be as it may, you need to remain true to yourself so keep looking until you find the one you want.

High standards or not, a guy should keep your focus if you're a good match. Be patient- soon you'll find the guy who cant get enough of! I've found mine and it feels sooooo good! It's worth the wait!

Where are you meeting these guys? That could be what you need to change.
Is it more intellectual stimulation? Are you looking at them physically and are attracted to them until they open their mouth?
