What do you know about Mormons?

That they are Christian, they have the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they have the Gift of the Holy Ghost, they have the Priesthood of God to act in His name, they are honest, charitable, good, fun, nice, caring, sharing, true, loyal, hard-working people.
They don't believe in polygamy.
They believe in modern-day revelation.

Here are their basic beliefs:

1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression.

3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4. We believe that the first pinciples and ordinances of the gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereoff.

6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evengalists, and so forth.

7. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is tranlated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11. We claim the privelage of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul - We believe all things, we ho0pe all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

I know most Mormons are white and didn't start accepting non-whites into their "church" untill the late 80's early 90's.
I know that Mormonism was founded in Elmria New York, not too far away from where I live in Syracuse NY.
I know the history of Mormons is deep rooted and very many people don't realize the path they paved.

Its a cult. I had a girlfriend who was Mormon. When i went with her to visit her family i realized it really was a cult. She even agreed with me. As much i dislike liberals, with out them people would be brainwashed. Just like if we were all liberal we would need some conservatives to keep use in the middle.

With the Mormons, it all seems to be so tightly knit and conservative your thoughts are given to you by the elders in that particular area or town.

If your interested in becoming a Mormon, I suggest you do a lot of research first. Mormon's are wonderful people and very family oriented BUT know what your getting into first.

Mormons believe the Bible is correct .... as far as is translated correctly. In other words, the Bible is mistranslated and their other 3 books correct it.

I personally think it's a cult. They are a group that I won't mess with.

I am a Mormon. If you want to know what we beleive go to www.lds.org OR go see the missionaries. We are in every town these days.

We beleive in God the father and in his Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. We beleive in Modern day revelation and in keeping the commandments. We use the bible and beleive it to be the word of God just as we do the Book of Mormon. And we ARE Christians.. "church of jesus christ of latter day saint".

Just for starters... come to church!!!

Oh, and to the girl who left a remark before me,,, its JOSEPH Smith and the statement in the bible that says you cannot add to scriptures.. if you knew the bible well enough you would know that Revelations was NOT the last book written in the bible. The bible is not written in ORDER. Sorry-

I attended there church a number of times.was about to be baptized. but I told them of some miracles that had happened in my family and with myself. and they said I must be crazy. that only higher ups in there Church can preform miracles. there consumed by there Church's teachings and not the Spirit of God.
