My husband received the same check in the mail. It looks real, but since so many people are receiving the same thing it must be a scam. I looked up the address on the check on the White Pages and the only one listed in that building was in suite 210, not 300, and was a person, not a business. But if this really is a scam shouldn't someone report this so they'll get in trouble. The name of the bank on the check is a real bank and there are branches in MI. My husband called and talked to a woman at the phone number given and she's supposed to call back (from Canada). I'll keep you updated on results.

My husband received the exact same check today for the exact same amount we took it to our bank to get it checked over it is definitely a real check but my bank is calling the bank of America where the check came from to see if it is a scam or not they say that since they are asking us to send a lady in Canada 2866 of the check it is more then likely a scam if you find out anything let me know thanks

It is a scam. This is known as the "Canadian Lottery" scam". The check might be cashed by your bank but it will bounce 3-10 days after you submit it. You will owe the bank the full amount back plus a bad check fee.

The key to spotting these scams is they always ask you to wire money back...never wire money.

Never heard of it, I wouldn't cash it, it's probably some kind of scam.
