For me prayer helps me make better choices, it also gives me a sounding board when no one on earth wants to listen (God always gives me his ear). After prayer I feel serene and capable of anything I want to try. I can give my burdens to a higher power, thus freeing myself to go beyond my own preset limitations. It centers me and lets me learn from myself.
All these things make me sound very selfish but the better about me , the better I feel towards you

Prayers are just another form of denials. People can't accept the fact that life and the world isn't perfect. Prayers are like a tease for hope. Prayers are an admission that a person is not willing to accept the REALITY of life.

Outside of communicating with God there is NO point of prayers. A similar question would be, "Outside of talking with my mother...what is the point of talking with my mother?"

The body needs the soul and the soul needs the body, and both need to be made aware that the others need is also their own. That, ultimately is the essence of prayer: to know our needs, understand their source, comprehend their true objectives. To direct our minds and hearts to He who implanted them within us, defined their purpose, and provides us with the means to fulfill them. Prayer, then, is the medium for fusing intellectual concepts with the emotions of the heart, and translating both into the practical fulfillment of good deeds and the perfection of finer moral qualities.

God ordains people's prayers for others a lot of times such as a prayer that someone will be saved. God can work through that prayer because He ordained it.

That's what communication is, a chance to talk and share your concerns and if you wait, you might just receive an answer.
