To the best of my knowledge, John was on the Isle of Platmos when he had his alleged revelation. It's also been written that he was very ill at the time. Not "mentally" ill but physically ill. That being the case, I concluded that what he was experiencing was a classic fever dream. Remember having them as a child? They were beyond nightmarish and totally bone chilling terrifying. Consequently, whether you come away from reading Revelations thinking the man was psychotic or suffering from a fever dream, the conclusion is basically the same. He was delusional. He wrote about his delusions and unfortunately, it was tacked on to the end of the bible.

Completely impossible. Anyone who would think such a thing is ignorant of the Bible. The prophesies in Revelations reveal the heavenly things that were typed and shadowed in the old covenant as well as things that will and are beginning to take place on earth concerning politics and the spiritual mind-set of the day including all that is anti-Christ. Without knowledge of the whole Bible, one can hardly appreciate the brilliance of this Holy Ghost inspired masterpiece and how it all agrees and fits together perfectly even though some books were written many years apart, they are all still accurate, prophesies always fulfilled exactly, which further proves the validity of the Word. Revelations is like today's headlines with a sneak preview of tomorrow's as well. Have you read the Bible cover to cover without prejudice or pre-conceived notions? A carnal mind cannot comprehend spiritual things.

The four gospels were not written by the apostles.

They were written close to the end of the first century long after the apostles were dead and gone. The john who wrote revelations was not the apostle john. He was a poor man kept in prison so long that he simply lost his mind and started to imagine a vengeful God who would punish his captors and anyone like them.

The bible was created 2 centurys later by the roman empire to change the message of Jesus to something that the Romans found more acceptable.

This is why it is often difficult to understand. The message of Jesus on the other hand is elegant and simple to understand. You need to separate the message that Jesus left for us from all of the nonsense that the Romans overlaid it with and it will start to become quite easy to understand.

Don't take my word for any of this. Study biblical history for your self and draw your own conclusions. There are many good books on this subject by some intelligent and thoughtful people. Take advantage of their efforts.

Email if you are interested and I will send so suggested reading material.

Love and blessings.

It is believed that he may have gone mad while in exile. More likely, he was just encoding his political opinions about the Romans.
