Go to My Computer and Right Click on the drive you want to run it on. Then click on Properties. Then click on the Tools tab. In there is a Error Checking. You can run this, depending on the options you choose you may need to reset your computer to run it.

This is essentially Scandisk.

Open My Computer, right click on the drive, click Properties then select Tools. Click the Check Now button. More than likely, it'll ask if you want to do this at the next bootup. Say yes and then restart your machine.

Assuming you want to fix any glitches, a good way to do this is to boot up into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as it starts up. Choose the option to boot into the command prompt mode, and once there type in the following (without the quotes):
"CHKDSK /F" and hit enter. Good luck.
