One of the quickest most sanitary ways to thaw meats is using cold, running water. This utilizes two methods of heat transfer, conduction and convection. Conduction being the direct transfer of heat through particles, convection through currents. Now if you could apply the third, radiation, as well, such as sunlight. Then it would go quicker, but don't strain yourself doing that. Don't attempt to move your sink next to a window if it isn't already there. But, if you don't want to keep your water running, just let it sit in a sink of water. Use a frying pan to hold it down if it floats.

Let it thaw in the fridge or, run it under cold running water until thawed then prepare a good hot grill and get some of your favorite seasonings and place on both sides of the steak and grill the steak until the meat just flakes.Boiling is not a recommended cooking method.

I ;usually thaw them out in the fridge over night. You can also put it on defrost in the microwave. Not for too long though, keep checking it after a couple minutes. Absolutely do not boil it. I think that would be a big mistake. We usually cook ours on the grill and put a butter, grilled onion, soy sauce, brown sugar sauce over it. It's great.

For thawing, I normally remove from the freezer to the chiller the night before. Then blanche it for 2-3 minutes just to cook the outer layer. You must not cook the inside. Remove from pot and grill it.
Boiling is a NO NO.

Ideally, you thaw it in the fridge. Do NOT boil it to thaw it out. It will cook it and I'm not sure the result would be to your liking.

Fill your sink with cold water and let the steak soak (in package) until thawed. This is the quickest way.
