No. It does NOT contain iron. It is not a substitute for any prescription medicine. They certainly don't use the old advertising slogan 'Guinness is good for you' any more - because it would be illegal!
However, if you are going to drink beer then you could certainly do a lot worse.....

do you mean sanatigen? thats made from blood and gets you drunk very fast lol
or macison
all have lots of iron in them
hospital used to offer them to pregnant women while they stayed in hospital
it would never be thourght of now
i had my guiness while i was pregnant
i tried the sanategen but found my hubby liked it more....
the sod kept drinking it not me ahhhhh

no olden days about it,Guinness is still prescribed by doctors in Ireland for various ailments. one bottle a day.

I AM NOT SURE ABOUT IT BEING SOLD ON PRESCRIPTION, BUT IT WAS CERTAINLY USED AS A TONIC, THEY WOULD ALLOW YOU TO TAKE IT IN FOR PEOPLE IN HOSPITAL.
