Nope you are wrong again. Polygamy is a sin because of the definition of marriage. God gave Adam one woman. Most state laws define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Where have you been with the history of fundamentalist Mormonism. They believed in Polygamy and were kicked out of Illinois, Missouri and a couple of other states.

It seems only in the past century that marriage is defined by what is done in the bedroom. Marriage defines families. Today with people expecting social services to familes (from government), the definition of marriage is being challenged. Those not in traditional marriage relationships are arguing of being disenfranchised. As the Supreme Court of Massachuetts, government can define marriage since government reconizes in the social context.

Legally, polygamy (marrying more than one person) is forbidden.
However, loving more than one or having relations with more than one isn't.
That's polyamory.
But, I don't think polygamy should be wrong either, but in that case, why even bother getting married (apart from some of the legal benefits marriage gives you)?

This is an interesting subject and since I live in Utah, one of particular interest to me. Personally I don't think you can be in favor of gay marriage and against polygamy. The problem with polygamy, at least in the Utah religious sect, is that it usually involves under aged and often incestuous relationships. That is obviously wrong. Those things aside, I agree with you. Consenting adults ought to be able to be with anyone they choose to.

If you are of mature mind and body and truly believe this to be right for you, then more power to you. As long as people consent and know what they are doing, don't bother me or others, then I'm fine with it. The thing to remember is that even in this situation, human emotions prevail. There will be jealousy, love, and anger. It's like any relationship.
