My boyfriend recently told me he loved me. Well my birthday just turned up and do you know what he got me? Tube socks! I know it's te thought that counts but he got them at the dollar store at the very last minute. I wanted to slap him! Should I or shouldn't I slap him upside the head?

No need to slap him just make him feel terrible about it by buying him something really nice that he'd love on his birthday and wear the socks he got you for yours so you can say after you give it to him "hey I got the socks you got me for my birthday on since this is a special occasion." ;o) But seriously now remember it's the thought that counts. Some men have no idea what to buy for their girlfriends and he just may be one of them. ;o)

Well, better than that, ask him why he would get you such a thoughtless gift and tell him it hurt your feelings that he didn't even try. If his answer is anything besides "I wanted to surprise you with this great diamond necklace (or something else really great," he's probably not gonna change and you should slap him upside the head.

you're in a 'baby' relationship if he's just now telling you he loves you. I don';t mean like a childish relationship but it's still young. Remember, its the thought that counts. don't slap him. just get him something eaqual to your tube socks. like get him boxers or tshirts

I would be upset to I mean it is the thought that counts but that was not a very thoughtful gift. I would definitely have talk with him to let him know how his gift made you feel.

Ugh...better slap whatever is ailing him out of him. Maybe he panicked, left it to last minute, saw these beautiful socks said to himself "errr....she'll like these, I think..."..... Who knows? Men do hate shopping for women, though.
