DUDE, take the 45 days. That probation is a set up they will look for anything to lock you up anyway and especially if you get a d@#!! for a probation officer, so just take the 45 day.

I have never spent time in jail but I would gladly deal with 45 days in jail and serve the time than deal with the morons who run social programs like Anger Management. I disagree with the other two, the legal/justice system in this country is about as corrupt as it can get right now. I went through some county yokels justice system. The corruption got so bad that I slammed them all in federal court for civil rights violations. If you are getting reamed by an unjust system and corrupt officials, federal exposure is your best defense.

Personally, I'd prefer to do the time. I'm sure 45 days in Jail is no fun, although you might get that sentence discounted (paroled) in some places and not serve the full time anyway, and you might not like the strip searches and other indignancies there, but I don't think what's happened to you is any better and probably worse. 45 days, free food, warm bed in winter, free medical care. (be sure and complain about tooth pain they love that one. Plus, in 45 days you are done and don't have to put up with their BS. Remember if you screw up at 11 months 28 days you go to jail anyway, just do the time and move on.

After committing a crime, you have to pay. You were already in a position to stop the negative behavior and sent the e-mail. You have freedom, it is not the justice system's fault that you can no longer work in the fields you desire.

I think it would depend on what kind of jail population you would have to be in.
