As this is a dog forum, crate train him, positive reinforcement, and if that doesn't work... neuter him!
But seriously... just ignore him. If you pay attention to him you give him reason to brag... he gets the attention he craves. When he stops... he probably needs a friend. Consider that.

Ignore the bragging and when he does it wiggle the conversation back to something that is real and positive about him. I think the others are right, this poor young man has very low self esteem and needs attention. He most probably has an overbearing mother or father and may not socialize as well with one or the other.

This boy is probably "braggy" because he feels sad and insecure. He thinks that he has to brag in order to impress people so they will like him. He thinks that the "reality" of who and what he is isn't good enough.
My advice to you (and I know it's hard) is to try to be as nice to him as you can - especially in those times when he's NOT being braggy. Eventually, he'll see that he can just be himself and people will like him.
