US is land of opportunity. Israel, however, has more religious importance, which is relevant since you ar making a reference to the Bible. I would, though, agree with you that for all people, including Jews, America is the land flowing with milk and honey.

According to the Bible - the Promised land is Israel. America has a lot going for it that is true but I wonder where we fall into God's scheme for us.

The real promised land is yet to come. God's original plan in the beginning was have the whole human race, living in peace on a paradise earth. Before Adam and Eve sinned we were all to live forever in perfect health, and have complete happiness. That is still to happen in the future for people loyal to God, who find out His requirements and do His will.

Psalms 37:28
The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.

Matthew 5:5
“Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

Revelation 21:3-4
3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

John 17:3
This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Nobody knows where the promised land was, maybe the Gobi Desert, or the Sahara. Unlke the place it is now, the land was already rich. All we really know is that it was away from the Pyramids.

The US has, or had, remarkable resources, and still has a great deal of wealth (and debt)... Israel is a horrid desert, why anyone would want it is beyond me...

Then there's Canada (never been there - know folks from there, and family has visited)... incredible resources, very low population... and apparently really beautiful...

The US isn't mentioned anywhere in the Bible.

Besides, the US gets regularly hammered by massive natural disasters which make Canada seem like heaven on Earth even with brutal winters.
