i guess everyone seems to think so...but i do not. i think that deliberations and inteligent debate CAN work however it all depends on the tolerance and intelligence levels of the individuals involved (even maturity level). War does not have to be the answer. War should be the last resort and should be legal and honestly justifiable.

People go to war basically over disagreements, whether either side is justified or not. With most people willing to fight until death for their beliefs, I think true peace can only come when only one side is left standing, otherwise the war comes back after tensions grow again, meaning peace never actually existed. Survival of the fittest basically. We (in the US) are a country where all we know is kill or be killed, and we don't back down because we have too much pride for having the strongest militia worldwide. Sometimes our actions are justified, sometimes not, and usually it gets to a point where we could have had a less violent method to achieve what our goals were in the first place by using force.

Sorry, I think that may have gone a bit further than your question was asking LOL Just my opinion though.

Actually, war kind of can equal peace, if that is all you have ever known. If you grow up in say Lebanon with constant warfare around u for 20 or so years, war would be all you know. Or war can equal peace if you completely wipe out the side u were fighting.

its hard to tell war is waged for peace and the longest times of peace was when the roman, and greek empire settled conflics themselves so maybe if more people would join the U.N. less would probably happen

If you look through world history, you will see that all wars were fought to enable peace or freedom for someone.

Except for the shooting, it's usually hard to tell the difference. Karl von Clausewitz pointed this out some time ago.

Our country is what it is today because of all the brave men and women who fought for our freedom. Those brave soliders are who have given us the blessing of peace.

There would be no peace without war.
Victory then Peace.
America, Land of the Free because of the BRAVE!

All I can say is, after we dropped the big one on Japan, another nuke has not been used and will only be used in retaliation to a nuclear strike. Or if Muslims drop it.
