well it can break a little easier but if you are careful you should be okay. try using a wide toothed comb instead of a brush that will help reduce breakage.

When hair is wet, it gets weaker and tends to break easily. The brush bristles snap them in half, practically. You should try brushing your hair before it gets wet and then after you get out of the shower you should apply some detangler or leave in conditioner then work out tangle with a wide toothed brush.

I think that brushing your hair in the shower won't be the best. I did that for a bit when I was younger, It'll clog up the drain faster also. Try brushing your hair after you get out, and yes I think that you pull out more hair when it's wet but better then waiting for it to try with.. oh, forget it, guys don't get tangles in their hair.

It's true, When your hair is wet the cuticle (protective outer layer) is opened and swelled because it absorbs the water, leaving your hair in its most fragile stage, if you feel like you have to brush it and can't just use your fingers then try a pick(but not a metal one, try a soft flexible plastic). I you have breakage and split ends this may be the cause of them!!!

not true, not sure where you heard that but, there is nothing wrong with brushing your hair when it is wet! My Mom was a hair dresser for 23 years I think I ought to know.
Good Luck with your hair,

I do the same after swimming, no problem, but if your hair is weak, should do gentle, don't brush too hard
