how fast does just general food rot? like just normal food people eat?
i need info fast

i8 mean WHY DOES FOOD ROT!!! WHY DOES IT ROT???

There is no way to answer that question there are so many variables, you need a specific type of food like bread, apple, hamburger, ect. And do you mean like left outside (what weather), or on the counter, or refrigerated? Food rots because it's no longer on the plant or animal so its just dying slowly, and dead cells deteriorate due to outside forces, heat, bacteria and so on.

Foods rot because they get hot from being left out
The bacteria sets in and foods start to rot.
Especially foods containing dairy products
and mayonnaise.
Poultry and fish, pork are good examples of rotting quickly
30 minutes at least for these foods .

You should see the movie Super Size Me. They do a cool experiment with some fast foods and McDonalds french fries dealing with spoilage. I will never eat McD's french fries again.

pork 35-40 min room temp
veg a few hours when cooked
