just watched the NGC channel story called living with wolves and they were certain that there is a wealth of information conveyed in the many sounds each one makes as well as their own personality being in there. Dogs have many if not all the personality characteristics that humans have.

Yes, Dogs Understand Each others Barks, Each Kind Of Bark Means Something Different, Just Like When We Communicate, Kinda. But, I Used To Have A Dog That Never Barked, Not Even Once, It Wasn't Deaf, But We couldn't Figure It Out.

Recent research has shown that barks, snarls, growls, and body posturing follow a grammar that is specific and precise. However, as of yet, no specific tokens have been discovered in the combination, so they cannot be said, yet, to have a language.

A token in the sense of language structures is any arbitrary symbol ascribed meaning. For example, 'c' is not itself a token in English (it would be in Physics though!). In day to day English, 'c' doesn't encode a specific meaning. 'cat' does, however, and would be an english token, while 'c' would be a token in physics (the speed of light being the idea it encodes).

If a specific growl/bark/snarl/posture combination, inflection, etc could be shown to have a distinct meaning, then yes, we could say dogs have a language.

Yes. Canine Communication: besides body gestures (wagging of tail, etc.) dogs can be understood by other dogs with the sound and inflection of their bark. Ruff, ruff! Bowwow!! Rrrrrr! - are just a few of the many sentences known to every Canine.
Rouff!

Sure. Maybe not quite as distinctive and complicated as human's, but in a way it is I think.

I mean really, as if our talking doesn't sound like just a bunch of animals to any species that doesn't understand us. A crowd cheering or rioting probably sounds little different then a bunch of chimps or birds freaking out, we just can't see it because we are used to it and understand our species.

Mammals certainly do. Dolphins and whales make sounds that other dolphins and whales can recognize. Animals may not be able to convey complex thought the way humans do, but they do communicate.

Sure is. All animals communicate. Dogs know when we call there name. My uncles dog protected me when i was a boy when this other dog bit me. Some people wouldnt do that.

Barking isn't a language per se.
Dogs communicate through scents, body language, and the tone of their barks.
