Hi! Are they good family dogs? Does anyone have any websites that offer care sheets for them? Thank you!

Check these out my family has had one for years! He does tend to bark quite a bit and gets cranky in his old age...but who doesn't!! ;)

Hi, this site - which contains reviews of Minature Schnauzers by actual owners - says that it "is a calm dog that is good with children and other dogs. He is devoted to home and family. He is an enthusiastic barker, thus an excellent guard dog."

Though it does warn that they are messy eaters ... well, at least their beards get dirty when they eat. lol.

Here's a couple of sites that suggest what sort of care that they need (apologies if they're already suggested):

Hope they help

A roommate that I had had a schnauzer that was very protective and very anti-violence. If he felt that either of us was being threatened in any way, he made sure to let the offender know. When I was dating my husband he wouldn't let us sit together, he was always right in the middle and would growl if he tried to touch me. My then roommate has a little girl now and Scruffy simply adores her and protects her to no end

Everyone I know who owns one absolutely loves them. I have owned many dogs, and the min schnauzer is brilliant. They are smart, energetic, listen well and are great around kids.

I highly recommend one.

Fritzie was my favorite dog. she was soo smart and i loved her hyper nature. she was also non-shedding which is a great bonus. i miss her. RIP oh and by the way i had two kids and a god child who played with her all the time. never snapped once.

I think they do, I had a friend and she had a Mini Schnauz named Shotsie. she would find out where everybody was and then sit in the middle. (Rest In Peace Shotsie)

They are awesome family pets. they are smart gentle and loyal. I had one that would moan very loudly anytime I rubbed her belly. It was great.
