Which ghd hair iron? Original or Professional?

I'd like to buy my girlfriend one of these new fangled ghd hair irons she goes on about so much these days, however I'm not sure which one to get. Either the original or the Professional variety with wider plates.....

Which one should I get and why!?

She had long and relatively thick hair although when straightened it looks a lot less. It's naturally wavy if this helps too! (Oh and she's blond but I doubt this helps! ;) )

Get the professional ones as the plates are wider, so your girl can do her hair quicker and easier.
