thats ridiculous. of course its not a crime. some families need to do it because they cant buy a place where they can seperate their rooms yet. Its also a good thing - siblings should be together so they can become close and know eachother. But once theyre teens i think its right that they have their own rooms. Speaking from experience. My teen years was spent sharing a room and its dreadful. Ill never have my kids share rooms after theyre 13 unless i see they need to learn how to get along or theyre not mature enough yet

Dear girl: a room. I am certainly much older & No. 10 in a family of 11. A bed could hold more then 1 back then. There was 5 girls- 6 boys. Not uncommon for 3 to one bed. Then those old farm house were so cold in the winter, the numbers in the bed kept you warm. How far we have come, complaining about sharing a room. Bet there are many on here today who remember those times. You are luck girl.

Sharing a room with a sibling is definitley not a crime, it could be whole lot worse - like being so poor you don't have a home or your house is so small that you share a room with your entire family. Get some perspective!

Only the sibling that hates the other sibling thinks it's a crime - and they may be right in that situation. But siblings have shared rooms in civilized societies from time immemorial, and separate rooms have been a luxury available only to the rich until recently.

I don't see anything wrong with making siblings share a room, especially in families who have a small house. There isn't necessarily enough money to buy a house big enough for each person to have his or her own room and sometimes it is necessary for siblings to share a room. While it might seem like a burden at the time, I can tell you from personal experience that later it is a blessing because it prepares you for life with college roommates, housemates, and whomever else you might live with before you finally settle down on your own.

It's hardly a crime. I don't know what the problem is but over half the world's family's all share a 1 room shack with no bedrooms at all. They all sleep in one room. Be glad you have a bedroom at all.

lol that's all I have to say. Seriously though if there are not enough bedrooms then there really isn't a choice unless you plan on going out getting a job and helping towards paying the mortgage or rent for a larger home so the children do not need to share a room.

Whoever thinks its a crime needs to send me a check to cover a bigger apt. cause rent in Denver is outrageous. On the other hand I don't think you should mix boys and girls of ladder age cause this can cause serious probs. sometimes. I should know I worked at a group home. I think a person should just use common sense about it. By the way my two girls can't even keep one room clean.

Hey, s**t happens. Sometimes you gotta share a room.
I do know, however, that in some states it is illegal for children of the opposite sex share a room after a certain age, apparently to avoid sexual abuse...but I've had plenty of friends who were sexually abused by a relative that didn't share a bedroom with them.
