belly fat is really hard to get rid of...so for starters, make sure you are eating a low fat, low cal diet! Do plenty of sit ups, but sit ups won't help THAT much...you need to be working the biggest muscles in your body... the more muscle you have the more cals you will burn. So also do plenty of squats to build up your quads and hamstrings and butt. It sounds silly, but the stronger they are, the more fat they will burn over your entire body... Throw some cardio in and you should be good to go!

If you can feel your muscles underneath, you're off to a great start.

First, however, realize that you cannot spot reduce. You will loss fat all over your body and where it comes from first and last depends on genetics.

A clean diet is a major part of lossing the fat. Make sure you are also drinking lots of water (try for a gallon a day). This will help keep you from retaining water and making you stomach appear bloated.

Exercise is just as important. Don't neglect weight training. It goes hand-and-hand with cardio. The more lean muscle mass you have, the more calories you'll burn while at rest.

Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

Cardio, Cardio and More Cardio!! That is so essential to losing body fat. Doing a 100 sit ups a day will not get rid of it- unless you mix cardio into your daily routine...or even 3 times a week! But yes, cardio such as running, walking fast, kickboxing, step aerobics, bicycle....if you go to a gym, the elliptical is a good machine...most women like that one.

I'll clarify a little what double-star said. Yes, you need to eat healthy; mainly be sure to consume good carbs (get book on glycemic index), protein one gram per pound of body weight, lifting that will use the most muscle mass. Think free weights and multi joint movements (where one than one joint is used to complete lift). The more muscle mass the more calories you will burn. Not stronger muscles, since strong is relative. Just go for muscle mass. Be sure to work your entire body muscle balance is necessary to avoid injuries. Also incorporate cardio in the program.

To burn calories and fat, your best bet is a good cardio regime. I personally feel you get the best workout on an Elliptical machine. It's easier on the knees than running and it burns more calories.
