I found a formula for an essential oils mix to eliminate nits;
You need to use the purest of essential oils - a good brand, like Gerard or Tisserand.
You need ; Lavender - 15 drops;
Rosemary - 15 drops;
Tea tree oil; 10 drops;
Carefully drop by drop, put these quantities of oils into a base oil, like olive oil, or sweet almond oil or any light oil; NOT VEGETABLE OIL FOR COOKING!
You will need about 200 mls of a base oil.
Massage the whole lot into your daughters hair, gently comb or brush through, making sure the hair is saturated, especially at the roots.
Leave overnight.
Wash out the next day with a gentle shampoo.
Her hair will not only look, feel and smell beautiful; the nits will be dead too.
It's best to do this on a weekend, in case you have to repeat the process.
It's safe - no chemicals - and environmentally friendly.
I have used it with great success on my grandaughter's thick black, waist-length hair.

lol good answer!!
The only way to effectively get rid of nits is through the combing method but once they have all gone wash the hair and contion it using tea tree oil conditioner. Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to the nape of the neck and you should be fine.

combing it is the only way co she will have to put up with it , why not to it while it's late at night and you can tell her a story while doing it . also if you hold the roots of her hair with your free hand , it takes the strain and pain away a bit ,when you combing through the hair

Best way is to keep her clear from whomever she is getting the nits from once you've managed to get rid of them. Failing this, shave her head!!

hahhah that is funny. seriously though we jus twent through that and i found the oly way was to go through and pick them out to make sure i got them all. it is a pian espiecially when your daughter has long thick hair, but consider if you miss just one and it lives, it can as an adult lay 150-200 eggs in just seven days
