Yes He still does. God doesn't change.
Malachi 3:6
However, Satan the trickster can fool you. Ask God for help as Gideon did.
Judges 6:36-40
God does not mind establishing a "secure" connection with you. But you must not say aloud or in any way to anyone (even religious leaders) exactly what you are looking for. Satan can not read your mind, but is real and can observe your interactions and set you up for a fall.
We CAN go to God in prayer on our own. Keep the details between you and God. There is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. In addition to sets of instructions, God's answers are: YES, NO, or WAIT. Ask Him privately if He is speaking to you and He will come through with an answer when He is ready.
God bless you.

If the Holy Spirit lives in you I think it is very possible. You need to ask God to reveal to you what the dreams are all about.
I know a family that missed a cruise ship because of traffic. When they told family and friends about missing the ship 3 different people told them about dreams that they had. The dream was that their little boy had fallen over board and the parents went over looking for him and none of them survived.
One friend had the same dream 3 different times. He didn't know what it meant, he knew that the child going over board was not his own, but that he some how knew the boy. Turns out the boy belonged to his friends that live across country. The friend had met the boy one time as an infant.

I certainly agree that God still speaks to us through dreams. I have had dreams before that have caused me to take action to help someone who at the time I did not know needed help. God placed them on my heart and mind to go talk to. It is strange sometimes how God uses us (feeble as we are) to either help or encourage someone else. You have to be listening to receive these messages - it appears that you may be tuned in, so listen and then take action. Let me close by giving you one of my latest examples. I had a vivid dream about three months ago about an elderly lady acquaintance. She had been serving in the church with the retarded kids, and appeared to be doing ok - she never complained about anything - instead she was very positive and a lighthouse to others. Unknown to me, she had been praying for some time that she could get her bathroom repaired so that all the leaks and problems could be taken care of. She lived on a fixed income, and repair bills were out of the question. She had been saving what she could, but every time she would make progress, a more pressing issue would come along. Finally, in desperation, she cried to the Lord for help (this was the same night I had my dream. All day at work I couldn't get this lady out of my mind - I told myself that I had to go by and just pay a visit (at this point it was more curiosity than anything). When I arrived, she was her normal self and greeted me the same as she always did. For some reason (now I know why), I had to go to the bathroom. She began explaining that the toilet had to be flushed a certain way for it to clear and that she had a few leaks around her lavatory that had to be mopped up. I used the bathroom and immediately I understood the reason for my dream. I said nothing at the time. I went home and called my son who does repair work for a living. The next day we went over with a new toilet, lavatory, and all the necessary items to totally repair her bathroom. She was so overcome that she did not know what to say, but I just told her that God had answered her prayer to get her bathroom fixed. I have had many of this type dream and have tried to be more attentive to God's call. I truly think that He calls us to action through our dreams. Sometimes it is difficult to know the purpose of the dream, but with a little searching, you can find out.

I believe that God still communicates this way. We all have 3 voices in our heads. God, Satan, and ourselves. If you are questioning the source of your thoughts the first thing to do is to verify it with the Bible. If it contradicts something in the Bible then it obviously is not the voice of God. After that, the best thing to do is to pray hard about it. Don't be to eager to rush into something either, God will open your eyes when the time is right.

1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Heb 1:1-2 (NIV)
And if you want to know what his Son said - read the Bible. This is how God "speaks" to people today.

Yes, God still uses dreams to speak to us. In addition to the Bible, He also uses people and situations to teach, inspire and guide us. If the dream really is from Him, He will see to it that you understand it.

God can speak through a dream or anyway He chooses too. He will not speak contrary to His Word and that would be how to know if He was speaking to you in your dreams.

If it goes against Biblical teachings it's not of God. It's that simple. One must know their Bible to be able to discern this. Personally, God has never spoken to me through dreams, but I guess He can do whatever He wants, EXCEPT go against His Word.

When you get an experience like that you need to first pray and ask God for guidance do not go by your limited understandings or the understandings of others. If you believe in God and have faith in him he will guide you

I think God can still speak through dreams but I can't tell you how to determine whether it is Him or not. Pray?!
