Yes! Only if u have good reason to let them go. Not just to do it to prove that saying. That would be retarded.

I've heard it many times. If the person wants to be set free then YES. I'm not so sure I'd want that person back though. If they are the type to leave you now for a chance that they are missing something "greener on the other side" then they will leave again...or worse, just cheat on you later. I feel that sometimes the person NOT wishing to end things is the one who must let the other go...for several possible reasons...example...Your bf/gf is always threatening to leave...one day just move all their stuff OUT...see if they truly want to leave or not...it's not fair to always threaten to leave. It's mean and cruel. But if they are a cheater and you've caught them...let them go even if they beg to stay. Make them get counseling before you take them back. NO one is perfect. Therapy can make a huge difference no matter if your married or not. I've found that once a person leaves...the true relationship is OVER. It's never as good as it once was. Starting over with someone new is
best...sorry. My own experience...I've had a lot...best to never go back. or not take anyone back who've left you before. (starts a bad cycle)

Yes. I let people and situations go and so far it has worked out beautifully. I either do not worry or it is a breather time. I have had friends years later come up to me to say they were wrong about a situation and we hugged and went on our way!

Absolutely. The saying is "if you love someone, let them go,if they truly love you they will come back.
Too often in relationships,we have a tendency to be possessive.True love doesn't work that way.
When I see a couple where one or the other or both become possessive, unable to allow their mate any freedom whatsoever, that's definitely a red flag.Jealousy soon rears its ugly head and the relationship is doomed to failure.

Well I have seen it happen more then once. Often people who were high school sweethearts are reunited later in life. However, I only think they mean to "let it go" if it is not a good thing at the time!!!

No, it's something you say to get people to let go of something when they are having a hard time doing it. We all know it isn't coming back.

No. If you love something...why let it go? And if it is a person, and they WANT to go... then you can let them go.
But they aren't coming back. And if they did, I'd have to kick them to the curb. No second chances here.

Of course I believe you have to let go. True love is wanting what is best for the one you love, it is about inconditional acceptance... No one is "yours" every human being belongs to himself.

The people that let go are too weak to hold on. Wow, that was beautiful.
