Well I smoke a pipe and my girlfriend loves the smell.

Cigarettes smell like garbage...just like the people who smoke them and anywhere they are around. Cigars & pipes are more tolerable to the nose. Also, the smoke from them is smoother, and not as abrasive & choking as a cigarette's when you're receiving their secondhand smoke.

Pipe tobacco is by far the least objectionable.

Cigarettes - but it has to be roll-ups! Ready made ciggies are foul, wheres rolies are quite innofensive. Even an ashtray with roll-up butts in is not too bad, but even one old tailor-made hanging about really stinks.
I don't mind someone smoking rolies in my home, but wouldn't ever be able to tolerate ready-mades.

Whichever one smells the best. Don't some pipes have a hint of an enjoyable scent? My uncle used to smoke them occasionally, I always thought they smelled good.

Because you can get the vanilla flavored tobacco or cigars and it smells SO GOOD when burned.
Cigarettes never smell good.
