put a bar of soap and a deodorant stick in a paper bag, include an anonymous note that says "take a hint, please" and quietly put it on his desk when no one is looking.

What about giving him a gift set for Christmas that includes deodorant, and after shave or something. Theres no easy way to tell him. Maybe everyone could have a conversation about how they hate being in confined spaces with a person who does not bathe or use deodorant. You dont have to mention him specifically, maybe he will get the hint. Good luck!

Start spraying air freshener in the office. If he ask you why your doing so; then that opens the door for discussion. I would say something like, It really smells of B.O. in here, I wish others would have enough respect to have better hygiene habits since we all have to work so closely together. That way he should get the hint without you having to directly approach him.

Hi, Before dealing directly with the coworker, tell someone in charge so they could mention it as a general tip to all employees without mentioning names. Hopefully, when he hears it at the meeting he will start using deodorant. If he still doesn't improve his hygiene then someone should deal directly with him.

This is a difficult situation, but it must be dealt with. Maybe you could gift him some. Or casually in converstaion talk about how you like using a certain brand so much and how its gross when people dont use any. Or you could go play basketball or something and put on some deoderant and ask him why he doesn't use any. Good Luck!

Maybe it's better to just be direct and say something about it, or get your manager to do it. If the lot of you go to your manager and say, "Look, we're tired of smelling Bob's pits all day." I'd wager that your manager would intervene and fix this issue.
If that doesn't work, have everyone give him a stick of deodorant.

I don't recommend giving him a soap or scented gift because they might hurt his feelings and make him think everybody was making fun of him. I'd go with the person who said to talk to HR since it is their responsibility. Or pull him aside yourself and tell him that it's noticeable and he might want to do something about it...Good luck these things are never easy!

you got to becareful because there are people out there who have gland problems and no amount of deoderant can help them. there are also people that don't wear deoderant because of their religion. So becareful.
But be nice about it, do it somewhere private. Don't tell everyone
