I don't live in Virginia, but I came across your question. And I just wanted to say, (hat's off to your parents) you sound like a good girl, on her way to becoming a very influential woman. Merry Christmas:)

You are such a thoughtful child! I hope you get twice as much back for Christmas! I don't live in VA, but I know I have a question up asking if anyone knows where we can get help, and lots of people have been telling me the Salvation Army (they can't help me because my husband worked last month, and if I did meet their income guidlines for income in the last 60 days, they would only help one of my four children because their cut off age is 11), even though they aren't able to help me personally, I know they do tons of good things for other families and will see to it your donation get sto where it should go. Every state has a Salvation Army. Or you could check your blue pages and contact child protection or children and youth services and ask them if they have any children you could purchase gifts for. Those would be children who have been neglected , abused, or come from broken homes. God bless you because you are one of the hidden angels out there!! Merry Christmas =D

Try calling your local hospital and ask about visiting hours at nursing homes. The elderly love visits and colorful cards from young people. They are forgotten by almost everyone, but they still need love!
You can also look into Angel Trees or Shoe Box Children at local malls and churches. Or stop by the Salvation Army and ask what you can do to help.

Participate in the Marines' Toys for Tots campaign or go to a local mall that may have a "giving tree" where you can pick one or several people who may need your help.

Contact your areas Red Cross, your local police/fire dept., the Salvation Army, Goodwill...I would start with the police/fire dept tho...that way it is geared toward people in your area. I think it's awesome that you want to do this! By helping others, you will also be rewarded! Godspeed and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
