Christians I understand that you have been taught to believe the b bGospel, and the word of God. But just because YOU believe it doesnt mean its right, and when a christian says to a non-christian that you are going to hell if you dont believe in Jesus or the bible is extremely vulgar to us. I'll even use your own words: Judge not, unless you be judged also. You really need to think about what you are saying to people

The only appropriate thing for a christian to say is that the bible says you must confess that Jesus is the son of god. That is scripture. It's christian mechanics guide. If a car is out of gas it won't start. that's pretty much black and white. If it is offensive it is not meant to be. It's only living by the gospel. If a non believer doesn't buy into that than why should it bother them? From the things I read on here which is more insulting? I have read things like when I get on my knees to pray my boyfriend gets me from behind. It might sound cute to a non believer but you don't think that is insulting? Not only is it insulting it's meant to be insulting unlike what a christian says quoting the bible. Also I have never asked for someone to respect me. Respect is something you earn it is not given freely.

in case you opt for this friendship to proceed you may want to objective to get him to conform to disagree in this and under no circumstances seek for suggestion from with him about faith. you purely discovered a puzzling lesson, there are some religions and some those with in those religions that are illiberal. that is not any ones agency what you've faith or do not have self belief. even if, if you're throwing words like Pagan and Wicca about, and doing tarot readings anticipate the style of reaction. there has been an excellent decrease back lash in the direction of non-Christians contained in the US or perhaps if we are taught about non secular freedom, like such a range of of factors, that is only a freedom for Christan's.

I am a christian and sometimes when I read some of these posts I can see why some people do get offended by them. There are Christians that put these type of words (@%*$) in there answers. As a christian I don't think this is right. You can get a point across with out putting the "vulgar signs" in.

To all Christians how do you expect to win people to Christ setting this example.

Jesus did set the example of being love and showing love no matter what, to turn the other cheek. so next time you go to answer a question or bash on someone think would Jesus do this or would he let his love and kindness radiate?

Just because YOU don't believe it doesn't mean that God isn't real.

And Telling someone the truth-- that they are lost and won't go to heaven unless they have Jesus as their savior, isn't judging. Judging is condemning or criticizing someone. Telling the truth about the bible is not judging. Many unsaved people use this bible verse and twist the meaning whenever they think someone is judging them.

And anyway, I don't personally believe people are going to burn in hell forever. God is a merciful God. At the Judgement, they will be shown what they did all the times they pushed God aside and refused the Lord Jesus. After this, they be cast into fire and completely burned up. Never to exist again. This is the 2nd death. (the first death is our physical death). Sorry that you have been offended at us christians. I guess the reason we spread the gospel is that we are commanded to. Jesus told us to tell the whole world. We do this because we love others and want them to share eternal life too and not be lost forever. It's meant out of love, but most non-Christians don't understand this.

Do you believe that ALL or even most Christians think it is their job to go around in judgment of others????

You are correct with your statement "Judge not, unless you be judged also"

That is so true!

I as a Christian don't ask for Respect or high personal standing, that would in itself be against the teachings of Jesus.

Faith in God cannot be for the personal glory of man.

Good Luck!

Well your absolutley right. Christians shouldn't judge people, although they should tell them how God will judge them. Just because you believe it doesn't mean its right. This also is true, although once you have the spirit of God, you don't believe you know. Just like a little kid is told not touch a stove or he will get burned. They might believe this however, they don't know for sure until they touch it. This is the same for true Christians, the know whom the believe for the spirit is with them.

There are several atheists on this forum who put it quite eloquently, so I'll borrow it from them but phrase it in a question; why do you as an atheist get offended about hell if you don't believe in it anyway?
By the way, you've taken that verse out of context, once again...it's saying that we are not to judge someone for a sin they are practising, while secretly practising the SAME sin in our own lives. That verse is talking about HYPOCRISY!

Not all Christians act that way. I don't say anyone is going to hell because the bible says that only God knows a man's heart.

Your anger is understandable. But, suppose you believed that the eternal destiny of a person was determined by their belief in Jesus Christ. You honestly believed that their failure to believe would cause them to be eternally separated from God. It would seem most callous if you chose not to bother those people with your belief, turn your back, and enjoy eternity in heaven. While I would agree with you that some tact is needed, it is not surprising that believers are evangelical by nature. In fact, would go so far to say that a non evangelical is just a cultural Christian and not a genuine believer at all.
