Well when I think of "frosties guy" I think of the old guy from Wendy's (awesome frosty's) and yes he is dead.

If you are talking about Dave Thomas, the man who founded the fast food chain Wendy's, then the answer would be yes, he passed away a few years ago.

I don't know his name, but the voice of Tony the Tiger died a couple years ago. He also sang the You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch song.

whenever you hear some outlandish stuff like that, just Google "Hoax + [rumour]" and you'll always find out that it's a load of rubbish.
And he was not South Africa... it was just that the advert was filmed on location in SA. He is British, and alive.
