I'd imagine that if a child is putting up a fight about being adopted into a certain home, they would not let the people or person wanting to adopt that child go through with it. The last thing you want to do is place an orphaned child into a home where they might have problems. Or maybe they would put them all through some sort of counseling before adopting the child out.

it depends on the age of the child. There is a certain age where the child can say YES or NO to adoption (I think it varies by state) if you are below that, then no you dont get to choose. Though, if a child is very against it they may do some further looking into the situation to find out what the problem is.

Depends on the age. Most states will take a childs perspective into account when that child has reached a certain age but some kids dont really know whats best for them so the state/courts make the final decision.

uh ya, otherwise they would be old enough to be an adult. If that chils is under the age of 18, they can be adopted out to whoever can take care of them. Although most adoptive parents will not adopt someone who does not want to be adopted. They will then live in a half way house until they are 18.

You have to be more specific. Is the child orphaned or a step parent adopting her/him and how old is the child.

It depends on the age of the child at 16 they have the right to say where they want to live. Get a lawyer.

I think so. I'm not sure though. I think its up to the legal guardian/parent/government and the person interested in adopting..they do take the cihld's will into accoutn though. I hope. I think it should n't be that way but it might be...(as in being adopted agaisnt their will)

Depends on a lot of things, the age of the child, the circucumstances.....

Personally, I would rather be in a stable family situation (i.e. adopotion) than thrown around in foster care and dumped on my own when I'm 18.

I think so, you can always call an attorney. or your local courts they will be able to tell you.

The only way that I know of if the child is over 16 years old.

unfortunately it doesn't really matter what the child wants...the courts will decide if its in the child's best interest or not.
