It rather depends... if we took them outside and they were incapacitated somehow (tied to a telephone pole, for instance), then something a little lighter could be used because you could flog them for longer (I'm also assuming this is after the movie is over, because the longer you're out there flogging people, the more of the movie you're missing) If they're able to run away, however, the barbed wire would have to be used, because you might only get a couple of licks in before they got away.
In any event, your theater should have a policy in place for the removal of patrons who disrupt the viewing enjoyment of those around them. It makes good business sense -- if they don't do anything about customer complaints, people will stop coming and giving them money. By all means, tell the cell phone yappers to hang up and watch the movie like the rest of the audience, and if they refuse, go talk to the management. That sort of behavior should not be tolerated (if it's that important to answer the call, they can take it out to the lobby) It's just like people with screaming kids: just because you're paying to be there does not give you the right to ruin the experience for everybody else)

Well, yes..no...not barbed wire...but definitely flog them for yapping on their cell phone; especially when the theaters have already did the little theatrical "SHUT UP!" vignette.
And, like Snap said - stop kicking the back of the seats!!

This is one of the many reasons I don't go to theaters anymore. I wait for the video or dvd to come out. Anyway I agree that they should be removed, but the flogging is rather drastic. Besides you'll miss the movie if you do that. Same thing should be done with the teenagers and kids that interfere with your viewing of the movie. No matter what they're doing.

Yes. I would vote for that immediately. The morons that sit there yakking on their cell phone oblivious to everything and everyone should be forcibly removed from the theater and beaten severely about the head and shoulders.

I think they should be asked to leave but flogging them with barbed wire is a little much.

No
One end of the barbed wire should be shoved down their throat and the other tied to a taxi cab. Next stop Brooklyn!

Get the manager. They're not allowed to have phones on in a theater.
