it depends on the culture, religion and society around the person that makes the person believe somethings as right and others things as immoral or wrong.. for example how the muslims think pork is bad and hindus dont eat cow..

Some cats are or were hunted.
I am not sure about how the laws are today, but hunting mountain lions and bobcats used to be very popular.
Also, hunting lions and tigers was very popular with the wealthy at one time.
I think that there are hunting bans on them these days for preserving the species.

Since most cats are domestic and likely someone's pet it is probably wrong.
That being said, I dont have a problem with the concept of killing feral cats, and they can be a problem in some urban areas. I hit a cat with my car once. I rushed it to the local vet where it died. It was an unneutered male cat with no tags or evidence of ownership. I still cried a bit, but the vet lady said that it was probably good that he was no longer siring unwanted kittens who would suffer. She was right.
Caveat: deliberately hunting and killing cats is probably illegal in most jurisdictions.

Hunting them is not appropriate however they have severe implications on the natural ecosystem. They will kill rabbits, birds, etc. when they are left outside, as many cat owners like to do. I would check with your local government, if you file for a nuisance permit, many times they will allow you to box trap them, and transport them to the animal shelter. If it is on your own property they are fair game, as they are not a game animal, they are considered feral once they leave the owners property. It is irresponsible for someone to buy a cat and then let it roam all over the neighborhood.

It's not right to go around neighborhoods hunting cats, but if a cat is out in the wild, I think it's ok to shoot it. They kill alot of innocent birds, and are hell on the quail population. I read an article in wildlife magazine, awhile back, and it was saying that housecats kill more birds than anything else. The guy was saying how it is better to shoot a cat than to catch it, and get it spayed or neutered. It only cost a few cents to shoot it, and it costs alot more to spay or neuter it.

It depends. If it is a wild cat, i think it is okay for it to be hunted. Just like wild dogs.
