I had a bc mix, he was the best! Vet said he behaved just like a pure bred. Make sure they kids don't stare her in the eye, that can be a sign of herding. They sell dog puzzles at the pet store. I know it sounds chessey, put they are just balls that you put treats in and the dog has to figure how to get the treat out of the ball, it kept my dog busy for hours, when I was not home. Also Kongs are great, but get creative with them. Put water in it and freeze it so that the dog has to work at it to get whatever is inside out. Keep in mind that it is just as important to keep their mind occupied as their body. We used to hide treats around the house or back yard and have him find them. Just be creative esp when you are not home. Of course you also want to make sure that you are walking her and throwing the ball. Look up fly ball on the internet your dog should have no problem learning that. Good Luck.

I have two bc's. To keep them busy I run them before work, lunch and after, at least 1/2 hour each time, and they still want more. They would rather keep going than eat!! If you are going for several hours at a time consider a pet sitter for a mid-afternoon romp. They will be much happier.

Here are some suggestions to keep them busy for a while. Buy one of these Kong toys with a hole in the middle and stuff the dog food in there with a bit of peanut butter. Then use a bigger treat to kind of plug up the opening so they can't easily get the food out. It will take them a while to get it open to get the food, but they will love the challenge.

When you do run them, run them good and hard, like frisby for 1/2 hour nonstop. They will love it and it's just what their bodies need.

Mine do well with this type of exercise plan and I can actually get some free time to sit down once in a while!!

I love border collies, BUT, they have limitless energy. They're still used by shepards as herding dogs. Also, they love to run. Another thing they love to do is chase frisbees. Take her out to a field and throw the frisbee...you'll be there all day...Good luck

I have that mix! She will be fine as long she has something to do while you are gone. Leave her will a lot of water. Make sure she has a toy to play with. She might get bored, and do things that you don't like however.
