Maybe the guy was scared and when he shot, he was shaking and the bullet did not touch him. Because of his fear, he had a heart attack...

The sound of the gun caused the man to fly backwords, hitting his head on the cement. He lay unconsios next to the gun. Meanwhile, a police man hears the gunshot and rushes over, his police car knocking the unconsious man into a nearby sewer. As he was plumitting into the slimy, green sewer water, he woke up. While he was climbing up the slippery ladder to get out of the sewer, he accidently knocked into a large bottle/tank full of carbon monoxide. The bottle fell to the bottom of the sewer and broke into a million pieces, causing the poisonous gas to spew out as soon as he reached the street, killing him on the spot right next to the gun....just a guess..

He stuffed the gun into a natural body opening, either down his throat or up his *** and fired the bullet, which did not exit his body and left no marks and he bled to death internally. Whether that's the answer you're looking for or not, it would work. Gimme my ten points! :)

this is just a guess....was the guy really not a guy...but a goldfish? So somebody shot the fishbowl and it shattered so the fish suffocated.

I know that at the beginning of the riddle you called him a "man" so chances are good that this answer is wrong...but it was still a guess.

Tell me if I'm right...

I agree with 4x4, he choked on the bullet.

Why the guy would try to swallow a bullet is another story, maybe trying to get a Darwin award or something.

He was on life support and shot the machine/cables which were keeping him alive. He broke the machine/cables and died from a lack of oxygen/food/whatever
