My mates dad is round here and he wont shut up. He likes to provoke an argument and debate but then has to be a smart **** and always right.
Help us shut him up with some smart **** bamboozling facts or debates.

However, I really DO sympathise with you!
I'm interested to see what answers you get.
When my hubby comes in, I'll ask him for some..... he works with a knowitall and he's always coming home and telling me of the heated debates they all have at lunchtimes. I'm sure he'll come up with something for you.
You could always hide behind the settee when you see him at the front door next time!

Don't know how old you lot are but didn't you know Mums and Dads always do this sort of thing. It's their duty to embarrass their kids! A bit like when they get up to dance at the wedding! He probably does know more than you through experience and also may feel he needs to prove it in front of a load of youngsters. Give him a break.

If you say anything at all to him, he has won. The only way to avoid his game is don't play. If he is ignored often enough, long enough, he will stay away. He is who he is; no one will change that.

Send him to Radio Shack for an A.S.H. Receiver (it's an ash tray). He'll be out of your hair, and everyone will have a good laugh at his expense.

Well there's plenty you can do, you can start with him on sight before he ever has a chance to open his mount, and that's everytime he enter's the room your in, or vice versa. You can also tell him if thats all it takes to stroke his ego, than he can contunie to bring the insults on.

I know exactly how you feel. My Dad was the same. We could have introduced them, and they would have been great mates!

Gross him out perhaps. Talk about the female body like talk about what happens when u menstrate. Be very graphic I'm sure he'll never want to talk to u again.

Get really religious around him. Try to convert him. Make it a particularly silly religion. Start quoting scriptures that are absurd to him.

never wrestle with a pig....you'll both end up dirty but the difference is the pig likes it!
