I just put my christmas lights up and when I put the last strand up the rest shut off except for the first 2 strands. How do I find out the problem and how can I fix them without taking them all down? I need the easiest way cause I got so frustrated I want to give up but my kids were upset.

Oh man, I have been there, done that. I feel your pain. There are two ways, no three ways you can tackle this without taking all the lights off.
First, find the "lead" bulb on the strand. What you need to do is go down the entire line and twist each bulb and hopefully you will find the loose one.
Second, I hope you saved the extra bulbs that come with the strand because you can replace the lead bulb with that one and it should work. What I remember, it depends how long the strand is, but it is usually the third one from the plug or where the strand will connect with another strand.
Third, leave the damn strand on and buy more lights and put them over those that don't work...lol...thats what I had to do because I was just about ready to fling the tree out the window, until I looked at my little boys face and my heart broke.
Breath in...breath out.....and Merry Christmas!
Good Luck.

unplug the last set and se what happens. If they do not come on check the fuses in the connector at the first one that is out. After not knowing how the lights are wired in the sets all i can tell you is folow the strands looking for the problem.

You may either need to get new lights or you have too many things plugged into the electricity all at once. The outlets can only produce so much juice. Sometimes electronics just won't work at all if the power is being spread out way too thin.

I'm sorry to say but maybe you have to just take them down.
