I've only ever been to Cancun but I loved it. Plenty of bars, some quiet and suitable for couples, some loud and full of singles.
There are day trips to Chichen Itza where you can see Mayan pyramids and stuff for a reasonable price, you can swim with dolphins, visit Xcaret where they have wild animals and plants, or just relax on some amazing beaches.
I highly recommend it! :)

Acapulco is a great place. plenty of disco`s , beaches, rental boats, sights, shoppingmarkets.
Cancun is for just a beach life
pyramids are for the old people
