if you chew your SOMA the only thing you will get is buzzed an a stressed out liver. Doubled blind, placebo controlled studies showed that most muscle relaxers work no better than a sugar pill, its effects are all in your head. Muscle relaxers, especially soma are hard on your liver and prolonged use of them can cause liver enzymes should be checked on a regular basis. Soma does give you a wicked buzz though!)

No. Carisoprodol (Soma) is absorbed from the small intestine not the mouth, esophagus, or stomach. Whether or not you swallow, chew, or liquify the tablet it still takes the normal time to pass through the stomach. Please do not exceed the prescribed dosage as carisoprodol is metabolized to meprobamate and the latter is no longer available due to potential problems. Since carisoprodol is the only muscle relaxant with any potential for misuse and as it offers no advantage over others I do not ever prescribe it. I hope that you get to feeling better.

I too have exactly the same problem. My TB constantly mouths the bit and salivates excessively but doesn't do it when im show jumping/cross country. Ive also changed bits to a softer one and she's had her teeth done but still continues to do it. I do notice however that when im schooling she becomes anxious. She even does this when im warming up before i jump. I have put it down to just being her and her type/breed. A new bit on the market which is quite a reasonable price is the peewee bit. Look it up on the internet and see what you think. Otherwise like me it may just be what your horse does!

No, I'm afraid you won't absorb it any faster. Might as well continue to swallow it whole and avoid the awful taste.
