Our society most definitely does not respect freedom FROM religion. Fortunately our constitution restricts how much the government can force these societal neurosis on other Americans.

I am from USA and no it does not.
If someone doesn't have religion they are treated as scum or stupid.
Years upon years of religious supremacy has given away to anti-religious arguments so we went from one extreme to the other instead of being in middle where we should be.
USA is supposed to have a seperation so that people can do whatever they want in their PRIVATE lives but that there would be no PUBLIC faith or religion to avoid conflicts....Anti-religious have gone way out of bounds by attacking anything religion connected in any public view and religious have gone way too far by demanding people obey their religion's rules as State law

In the US they do not. or else religious television would be one of those premium packages in your cable, and we wouldn't have people constantly knocking on our door asking if we know the true savior. We wouldn't have to deal with laws banning our own rights such as abortion or gay marriage.

If freedom from religion doesn't mean freedom from established moral standards of humanity!

As much as it respects any other differences from the mainstream, I'd say.
