Be nice and be respectful. Eventually, she may come around. Try reaching out to her and spending some time with just her. Let her know that you care for her son and only want to make him happy. Her son is her biggest priority, so let her know that you and she have that in common.

Well, be more specific on what's going on. In general, it's probably better to get along with your man's family than not, even if it means biting your tongue sometimes when you really don't want to. Obviously there are some extreme situations that exist - but most won't escalate to that level if you don't let them.

Be careful what you say and how you react to her! It could drive a wedge between your man and you. It is his mother after all. I would talk to him first but you want to be careful what you say so he doesn't feel you are attacking or bad talking his mother. He needs to understand that you want to get along but she can't continue saying hurtful, wrong things. Maybe you should spend sometime with her. If all else fails, fake it.

Just make a noncommittal reply and change the subject. It's not like you're going to be able to change her, and arguing isn't going to help. Everybody needs to learn to pick their battles, and one with the MIL or BF mom isn't one you can win.

Be extra super sweet so she looks like a witch. Don't talk badly about her to your guy- most men can't see their mom's objectively and he'll probably just hold it against you.

Just keep being polite and maybe she will see that you truly love her son and you aren't trying to replace her with you.
