This is the way I look at it. First I assume that people are well meaning but imperfect. This means we will make mistakes as individuals and as groups.
Then I would look at the independent belief systems and try to discover what they have in common and what is different. Almost every belief system has a version of the golden rule and holds it as important. So start by figuring out the common ground and then think about the differences in a systematic manner and maybe you will come a little closer to the Truth.
I don't Know that I am Right. I think that I'm right. I fall under the first assumption. I am a well meaning but imperfect human.

I love your question, because when I was young, I asked the same thing.
Now....I have come to believe one thing is true. All I can tell you is what I have learned for myself. . . .
I did study other religions. A LOT. I learned that many teach peace and self-knowledge. Many contain beautiful ideas. But for me, Christ was LOVE embodied. No other faith approaches that. I chose the one that 1) the people I met and admired most had embraced, - people wiser than I am, and 2)the one that emphasized kindness and love above all others.
I still learn from other faiths (most pagan!) but also consider myself a Christian first and foremost.
To answer your question, you DON'T know that you are right. No one does. Each of us has to take the information we find, and our life experience, and decide for ourself what our 'truth' is going to be.
And. . . sometimes our truth changes through our lives. It's a learning process.

when one does what they believe in their heart is the right thing to do then one has a good idea that their actions are proper. the only difference between one Religion and another are the NAMES they refer to GOD as along with the differences in various Rituals and Ceremonies which are used to Honor, Adore, Praise, Worship, Pray and Petition, Thank, Etc. their version of GOD. GOD is to big to be in only one place and there are many paths and ways to get to ones destination as one can walk, ride a bike, a motorcycle, take a train, a bus, a plane. etc. and still arrive at ones destination. arriving there is the important thing -- not how.

I did not choose to be a non-believer, and there is all the logic and the scientific reason in the world to back up my non-beliefs. My lack of choice in the matter and the sheer insanity of religion and theism make perfect sense, through my eyes.

Ya gotta have faith... there's no other way... there is no one religion that is the right one or the wrong one. Everyone has their own beliefs and it differs even from person to person in the same religion.

The truth is something that we have to discover for ourselves. No one knows 100% if they are right or not. You have to have faith that you are. Believe that you are.

For believers, it's called faith. You just have to decide for yourself I guess. I have faith, and I can't tell you why, I just do... that's what faith is, not knowing why, but having trust that one day you will know, and it will all make sense. I don't believe that we die and that's it. There has to be something more, in my opinion. It's up to you decide what you believe, and you don't have to explain it to anyone.
