Simple - If the Palestinian people were to stop attacking Israel, there would simply be peace, and Palestinians would have a sovereign country of their own.

I know it like I know the the ocean water is salty, or that the sky is blue...

Israel is quite a multiciltural place. There are Jews from many countries across the world living in Israel, as well as many Arabs and others.

From the World Factbook:

Ethnic groups:
Jewish 76.4% (of which Israel-born 67.1%, Europe/America-born 22.6%, Africa-born 5.9%, Asia-born 4.2%), non-Jewish 23.6% (mostly Arab) (2004)

Religions:
Jewish 76.4%, Muslim 16%, Arab Christians 1.7%, other Christian 0.4%, Druze 1.6%, unspecified 3.9% (2004)

I would say that Palestinians would easily intigrate into Israeli society as the others do. However, there might be less tension at first as two separate nations, if the Palestinians got a viable, strong government and there was peace.

Yasser, I think your question is sincere and so I will answer it sincerely.
The only thing Israelis have EVER wanted, was to live in peace.
Perhaps, the way that the whole conflict came into being, could have been handled in many different ways with many different outcomes.
But we will never know that.
The only thing we can do is go on what we do know.

Israel was the only place that Jews as a people could go to, because it is their ancient home.
They were driven out, and driven out, and driven out again.
Although there has always remained a Jewish presence in Israel...the Jewish people as a whole were scattered across many lands due to the forced exodus', by attacking forces.
Jews belong in Israel. This is the fighting point.

Right before the State of Israel was created, the Palestinians were told by Jewish leaders that they should join Jews in this new state which would blossom and make both Jews AND Palestinians prosperous. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way.
What I am trying to say is that Jews have wanted peace from the very beginning. It all goes back to what I said in the other post...Israel has always been home to Jews, their origin, and so why could they not have been accepted as the cousins that they are?

Many bad things have happened on both sides.
There are so many who would be willing to start tomorrow from a new day into the future, if Palestinians would first accept that Israel exists, second, stop supporting political and guerrilla forces that want to destroy Her, and third, stop terrorist attacks on innocent Israelis.
In return for this...Israel as a people would do so much for Palestinians in their desires for statehood.
Can you imaging Jews helping Palestinians rebuild their shattered infrastructure, their homes and shops?
I can tell you right now...in exchange for Peace Israel has been willing to compromise so much, and they would be willing for the sake of Peace to aid Palestinians. Israel has been willing to compromise things that no other nation would consider.

Beautiful thought, yes. But real??
Reality is people like Ahmad. People like Ahmad from both sides.

Everyone wants to play the blame game. We can do that for another 70 years, or we can start as best we can to make a new future.
Israeli people as a people, do not hate Palestinians.
Israelis are eager to tell you how many mistakes they think their governmnet has made in regards to Palestinians.
But they will also tell you that they would love nothing more than to lay down their arms and go about the business of living.
Safety and survival are their main concern.

Palestinians used to cross checkpoint for employment before and even after the first Intifada. By the time of the second, everything had disintegrated and it was no longer wise for safety's sake, to grant entry.
Israelis do not like Refugee camps, they are sick and tired of the damn checkpoints, the whole thing!...just as sick as Palestinians, but what choice do Israelis have right now? So many against so few, so many who want every last woman and child to perish.
I can post the dogma of Hamas, Hezbullah and all the factions of this splintered and far reaching monster...but anyone who seeks the truth can find this all over the internet.
Why we cannot get to a place of compromise is so very complicated.
Would Israelis welcome Palestinians again if they can prove those three things? Would they feel safe with a Palestinian State right next to them if they can prove those three things?
Yes. And Yes.
Everyone has their own opinion on it...but the consensus in Israel right now is that they are weary and literally sick. They have been for a long long time.
The matter is so complicated and could never be discussed fully in this forum.
But I encourage and welcome the language of Peace in regards to the matsav. After all, the bottom line is this..it is Israelis and Palestinians who will be dealing with each other for the rest of their lives, it is Israelis and Palestinians who must ultimately speak from Peace.

If you have ever read the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish then please view an Israeli's side, a Jewish side and read the greatest Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai.

Read this:

Jerusalem

On a roof in the Old City
Laundry hanging in the late afternoon sunlight:
The white sheet of a woman who is my enemy,
The towel of a man who is my enemy,
To wipe off the sweat of his brow.

In the sky of the Old City
A kite.
At the other end of the string,
A child
I can't see
Because of the wall.

We have put up many flags,
They have put up many flags.

To make us think that they're happy.
To make them think that we're happy.

Yehuda Amichai~
Translated by Irena Gordon

And this:

My Child Wafts Peace

My child wafts peace.
When I lean over him,
It is not just the smell of soap.

All men were once children wafting peace.
(And in the whole land, not even one
Millstone remained that still turned).

Oh, the land torn like clothes
That can't be mended.
Hard, lonely fathers even in the cave of the Makhpela
Childless silence.

My child wafts peace.
His mother's womb promised him
What God cannot
Promise us.

Yehuda Amichai~

yes i would. but not all Israeli/Jews would. there a millions of Israeli's each one with a different view on things. i like to believe this is the same way with the Palestinians, and that's why its almost impossible for both sides to stop attacking one another there will always be a hand full of haters.

The Jews will never consent to having Palesinians in Israel. They just like killing innocent women and children. They like invading and terrorizing the poor Muslims in Palestine and in Lebanon. Why do you think Hezbollah is at war right now with them? It's because the Jews think they have the right to kill off all the Muslims and Arabs. Palestinian women and men are in jails right now simply for being Muslims. The Jews just want to ruin the Muslims lives.

Who is attacker and who is the victim?
You are telling about some personal activates done by some freedom fighters to free there occupied country ((attacks)), and you forget about the F16 and the Marcava attacks, you are calling shooting a bullet here and there attack, and you forget demolishing a full city like what happened in bait hanoon, you are calling throwing stones attack, and you forget the massacres every day they are doing in every part of Palestine….
do you know that since 58 years, every day there was Palestinians casualties by the Israelis, and now you are asking the Palestinians to stop…
The second point is that, Palestinians have nothing to do with the Jewish, our problem with the Israelis only.

not only that, but I'd have them
living next door to me right now if I could,
because to be perfectly honest,
I think that would be a step
towards solving the conflict...

I mean, when I'm not in Israel I live next door to Egyptians, Lebanese, Saudis... so what's the difference?
I respect all people and they can all be my neighbors, as far as I'm concerned!

not all jews are zionists!!

we don't all have one sided minds like some people.

this is not about who is attacking who, it is about jerusalem.
these other issues just distract from solving the problem, any islamic terrorist group would tell you that.

I am not a jew, but would like to say that I don't like Israel. That isnot because im "antisemetic" its because i dont like how they do whatever they want, and we support them no matter what. I havent seen any indication that they want peace with the palestinians.
