Where can I get the cheapest .30 carbine ammo? I would prefer to get non-corrosive if cost effective...

Your best bet is to watch the online places (Midway USA, Cheaper Than Dirt, etc) for military surplus. I saw some at a local place (all sold out now), Lake City US Mil Surplus for 3.99 for 20 rds - 2-10rnd stripper clips. Finding it that cheap was a great deal - new factory stuff will run you more (figure $16.99 for 50 rds). (edit> I know the source of the ammo I saw, and it is indeed US Lake City surplus - if you know who you're dealing with, you shouldn't have a problem.)

You don't have to worry about corrosive 30-carbine. It is the first military ammo the US Military required be made non-corrosive due to the gas system on the carbine.

Bound's hubby here:

I have found that the Sportsman's Guide (link, below) has had many good deals on .30 Carbine. I usually reload all my own ammo, but lacked casings, so I bought 500 rounds of Remington UMC on sale a while back.

Beware of "USGI surplus .30 Carbine"! As we all know, the Chinese are really good at copying stuff! There is some Chinese manufactured .30 Carbine that has the Lake City headstamp and a year (which I forget!). I would not trust that the powder they use would be safe.

Good luck!
