I cannot see why BHP has any relevance. With an old car like that I doubt it will be more that 90BHP. I have been the owner two Primera petrol 2.0L cars and both were fantastic when new. I gave my 1997 vintage one to my daughter who still drives it to this day the engines are unburstable.

90hp @ 4400rpm, I own a 2000 model p11-144 and my wife luvs it but it don't accelerate too quick but once on the go it's great! Pretty economical too. Given regular oil changes at the recommended 6k intervals and change the air + fuel filters at every other service and you should have no probs. Can be prone to NO: 1 injector needle failing and the pump wears and fails on higher mileage examples but hey which car doesn't have its bad points.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
